1st place prize, July 2018 Special category "Golden Gate". A magnificent clear sunset when the sun happened to pass exactly behind a hole in the bridge. Other than some cloning work on the birds and other foreground objects, I performed no enhancements on the images. The colors are exactly what came from the camera.

2nd place prize, September 2018. This one is notable because of the lens flares across the apartments. Lens flares always appear at infinity, just like rainbows. This can cause a kind of retinal rivalry where they compete in depth with the buildings they overlay. These appear to cut through the buildings which your mind knows is impossible. Normally you don't notice these kinds of things when seen with your own eyes, but that's just because your eyes are too close together for that to matter much. This image has an eye separation of 1 or 2 feet where it is quite apparent.
