This required that I stand partly in traffic to be able to sight down both visible streets which are actually at right angles from each other.

3rd place prize, August 2023. A lucky find of a rare atmospheric phenomenom called sundogs which are related to rainbows but generated by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. Sometimes you only see fragments. Here you can see the top V shape, an arc of a rainbow, and a vertical shaft from the V to the sun.

I needed to establish a new ash bed in my incense burner and suddenly realized that I had a use for the little satchel of ashes a friend gave to the Mussel Rock combat gliding community when our cannine friend died. This was the first incense I burned in it, and captured a heart shaped wisp.

I got a tremendous similar hyperstereo snap years ago but it didn't do well because there was nothing to use as a scale reference, resulting in something that looked more like an aquarium. This one suffers the same problem but people liked this one. That could be because we now discuss submissions before voting, but I'm fine with that!

1st place prize, December 2023. Saw this spiky plant while on a walk in the golden hour. Held my camera directly over the center facing straight down and snapped this shot. The title is a reference to the man-eating plant in Little Shop of Horrors which was named the Audrey 2 in honor of the main character's love interest Audrey.
