Here is a second version of the program, including up to 4D mazes, with
customisable sizes. 3 and 4d movement is on WSAD, and # represents a higher
dimensional 'ladder' where 3 and 4d movement is allowed. This version
should be more interesting and more fun. Let me know your thoughts.

It definitely works! The incredible Andrey once made a 5D maze. I can try t=
o set you up with that if you (or anyone else) write me privately because t=
he source has not been cleaned up for publication yet.

Your level 2 puzzle is interesting because it really does feel like groping=
around in the dark. It's as if I'm seeing two different shades of pure bla=
ck, if that makes any sense. It is a much more interesting experience than =
I imagined, and could indeed be an excellent task for improving one's geome=
tric memory.
