A couple of days ago I watched an awesome youtube video by Henry Segerman a=
bout the 30-cell puzzle designed by Saul Schleimer and Henry:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DFJwqT_sbB_A

Henry also announced it on the twistypuzzles forum:

http://twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3D18&p=3D290511

Usually an "n-cell" puzzle lives only in 4D, but this puzzle is 3D printed!=
It is based on the geometry of the 120-cell (projected into 3D). They pick=
ed 30 out of the 120 cells and made an assembly/disassembly puzzle. Please =
check the video or the pictures in the twistypuzzles page to see the detail=
s.

As a result, (for the first time?) you can order a physical 4D puzzle from =
Shapeways:

http://www.shapeways.com/model/693743/30-cell-puzzle.html

and play with your 3D hands. Henry also designed many 3D printed sculptures=
including several 4D regular polytopes.

And he said he was working on more puzzles! I bet they are going to be grea=
t.

I wanted to mention I follow Henry on Google+ and his YouTube
channel,
and have found both a great way to keep up with his new designs. His stuff
is just awesome!

Last year, I ordered his 8-cell and 16-cell shapeways models, and they are
lovely. Just a few weeks ago, I told Sarah I wanted this
one
for
my birthday. It has 3 full rings of dodecahedra from the 120-cell. I
especially like his focus on polytopes in S3, because of all the arcs you
get in the projections to R3, but he has a number of other neat themes in
his work as well.

I was lucky to get to meet Henry at G4G9 and again at G4GX. He has a
homepage at: http://www.segerman.org/

Thanks Nan for posting this to 4D_Cubing :)

Cheers,
Roice
