Hi all,
I've took a little break from 4D puzzles and spent some time to write sim=
ple 4D viewer and draw a model of 4D car for it.=20
You can find pictures from this message in the album: http://groups.yahoo=
.com/group/4D_Cubing/photos/album/11386094/pic/list

It is six-wheeled open car with one row of three passenger seats. Steerin=
g sphere is not ready now :(

Hi,

What is a 4D car? A car that can travel on top of a 3D subspace of a 4D
Euclidean space? It would be more popular if it can travel in the Minkowski
spacetime (i.e. time-machine -_-; )

Yes, it's a car for 4D Euclidean World. So it needs 3 front wheels to kee=
p direction and to turn in 3 degrees of freedom (left/right, kata/ana, cloc=
kwise/counterclockwise) :)
Next stage is to design 4D road crossing. But it's not very interesting -=
it's just a work with tubes in 3D...

"Steering sphere"? How cute!
Isn't that the same as an airplane with pitch, roll and yaw?
I want a 4D car. That way I wouldn't have to open and close my garage door.

Yes, it's like an airplane. But with sphere they can reduce rotation angle =
for wheels like we do in 3D cars (when we twist steering ring to 540 deg, w=
heels turn only to 15 deg or so). I don't know how to do it - probably by s=
ome complicated gearing.
And for 4D car you'll need garage with tesseract-like shape - with hyperw=
alls and hyperroof - so you'll have to open/close the door again.
