Sorry, after reading the times I really don't want to compete anymore! I me=
an like I'm over 3 times slower and that'll make me feel pretty bad. I also=
can't solve any other puzzles other than hypercubes so I'm getting out, in=
an "I'm so pathetic" way. Although, I will continue to solve the 3^4 once =
in a while and record a live solve (not a replay of log file) and put it on=
youtube sped up 4 or 8 times.=20

OK, so it looks like the first hyperspeedcubing challenge is on! So
far three people have signed up

and we appear to have consensus on the main details. It will be held
9/18 at or around 16:00 UTC. Andrey and I would prefer 18:00 or later so
I've added some new times around then to let people fine-tune their
choices but I suspect that Matthew may want to veto later times. Most
people have already filled in the blanks with their priority choices and
adjusted the others. It is perfectly fine to veto any times that really
do not work for anyone. It looks like Andrey and I will need to make the
supreme sacrifice by getting up early. So it goes.

The puzzle will be the 3^4 with prepared macro use allowed. I don't care
which program is used to solve the puzzle but I would like for everyone
to start with the same log file which I will provide in the latest MC4D
format. Maybe Andrey would like to write a MC4D->MC7D log file converter
or importer for use by those who prefer to use his program? Solutions in
either format will be acceptable. I will set a limit of 3 hours from the
starting gun to submit solutions.

Contestants are honor-bound to not get help form other sources, human or
otherwise. We will meet in a Yahoo IM conference chat where I will share
the starting log file. Let's try an unofficial test at the same time on
9/11 where I'll give a scrambled 2^4 and we can iron out the logistics
of doing this sort of contest. Please IM me and I'll try to add you to a
conference chat. My YIM ID is cutelyaware.

We currently have 3 people signed up. Remi, you mentioned that Matusz
might also join. Would you please check with him? Remember everyone, if
we get 5 or more competitors, I'm offering an official and unique
t-shirt for the winner! So if you have any friends who are solvers and
who might be interested, please urge them to join in the fun.

So prepare your macros, practice your set-up sequences, and may the
fastest cubist win!
-Melinda

You don't have to be the best at something to feel good. Someone is always
going to be better than you, eventually. I'm just as slow as you ,so try no=
