Greetings!

Congratulation Audrey! Wow! You have broken the old record into pieces!
I looks like your are doing some kind of "tour de force":)

Good luck with another challenges!

And thanks for finding missing person under 500 twists! Esceki record of
490 twists was after result of Roice and Mat, that's way it is missed
out on official board. For log time it was third result on the planet
and it is worth noticing. I'm happy to put his name on my list of the
shortest solutions in list of 'current personal best in shortest 3x3x3x3':
*Matthew Sheerin*(251), *Roice Nelson*(298), *Audrey Astrelin*(315),
*Remigiusz Durka*(333), *Klaus Weidinger*(386), *Mat Young*(467),
*Andras Ecseki(490)*, rest of mankind>500

I've updated the hall of shortest:

All the best to all hypercubers!

Hi again,

I've decided to skip 4^4 level and jump immediately to 5^4. Algorithm
was almost the same as I used in 3^4: first I build 4x1x1x1 columns (in
"scrambled" order), then extend them to 5x1x1x1 and at last solve the
remaining 5^3 puzzle. There was no unexpected "parity problems", but in
general it was difficult, especially the first stage - sometimes it
took 30 minutes to select cubes and their positions for the next step
and to make 10-15 twists )))

Congratulations Andrey!
I've recorded your impressive new record in the Hall-of-Fame.

Ouch! Guess that's my record thoroughly demolished. Congratulations for s=
uch an amazing solve! You certainly deserve to hold that record for a good=
long while, and I don't see anyone breaking it any time soon. I will be t=
rying to claim my record back one day, but I'm not sure I can manage it now=
! Congrats again Andrey,

Matt

P.S. Slightly off topic, I've been a little too busy recently to polish of =
my 3^4 solve, but I have some free time today. Let's just hope Andrey here=
doesn't try and take the record off me though, or there is probably little=
point in me trying!

Matt,
Don't worry, I have no plans for 3^4 in the month or two. Now I'm working=
on 4^4 (no record-breaking, just for fun and for the line in the list. But=
without macros and without pen and paper :D) Then maybe I'll go for {3,3,3=
}s or duoprismes, or something more simple like 120-cell... One day I'll re=
turn to 3^4 to catch some luck and break 300-twists barrier, but there alre=
ady was a bit of luck in my 315-twist solve. So good results for 3^4 are fa=
r away from me )))

(and the question for authors) I wonder if there are any plans for implem=
entation of "more-4D than cube" puzzles, like 16-cell and 24-cell. As far a=
s I see, their only difference is that they have not 4-color corners, but 8=
- and 6-color respetively. Is it a problem for MC4D and/or for M120Cell?

Good luck!
Andrey

There is currently no plan to support the 16 or 24 cell. It is
definitely possible to define puzzles with such vertex valencies but it
is not as natural as for polytopes with only four colors per vertex
(I.E. corner cubie). The good news is that the 120-cell falls into that
category and is already implemented as the hypermegaminx. Though if you
really want to solve that one you would probably be better off using
Roice's special-purpose Magic120Cell program. The engine behind all the
wonderful MC4D puzzles was done by Don and I know that he has plans for
supporting more puzzles, so it really just depends upon when he gets a
block of time to spend on that. This project moves in unpredictable fits
like that whenever a developer gets the time and the urge.
