Hey guys,

Melinda got MC5D and MC4D slashdotted Sunday morning! I thought you might
be interested in some web stats. Mine only get updated once a day, so this
only represents 18 hours of data, but it is still staggering compared to my
usual measly traffic. There were 100,446 visits to my site and 20,895
downloads of MC5D. In less than 1 day, I had way more visitors than if you
were to add up all visitors in the 3+ years I've been running this site.
There were also over 500k hits and about 50 GB of data transfer.

The link to Melinda's post is here:

The hourly usage graph (pacific time) for June was also interesting, so I
attached it. It is easy to see when the post happened :) I guess the
second spike represents Asia waking up.?.

It's been great for the Superliminal site too with roughly half of
Roice's traffic. In the last 2 days it saw over a third of a million
hits from over 83,000 user sessions though only 7 GB of downloads
compared to his 50+. I'm *really* glad that both of our hosts withstood
the onslaught. The first day gave about 50 times my normal traffic, and
at the end of the second day I'm still getting 10x normal.. In all there
were roughly 13,000 downloads of the full application and 44,000
downloads of the applet version. Not too much in the way of email but a
little, plus 2 new members to our little group (welcome you guys!!). I
wouldn't be surprised to see a few new solutions over the next few weeks.

I didn't see the giant secondary spike that Roice did though there was a
little blip around the same time. I've attached the graph from the first
day.
